Electrical Classification Codes for an EICR Electrical Report

When having an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) carried out, you will be presented with a report at the end. A part of this report may indicate some classification codes and recommendations for further investigation. There are 3 electrical classification codes that you may be looking at and wondering what it all means:

New Electrical Safety Campaign from NICEIC

Today (May 24 2018) the NICEIC (NICEIC stands for the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting.) have launched a new campaign encouraging homeowners to stop DIY electrics and call in a professional electrician.

As an electrician in Yateley, Hampshire, I fully support this new campaign. Saying that, there are a number of simple, visual electrical checks that you can carry out yourself for free:

Electrical Inspection and Testing Advice

The checking of the condition of your home electrics is as important as getting an MOT carried out on your car. Whilst home electrical inspections are well known within the rental sector, many home owners have not actually heard of them.

Regardless of whether or not you have heard of them, there remains confusion over what they actually entail. The primary reason for having a home electrical inspection carried out is to understand what condition your home electrics are currently in and if they are dangerous.
